The saying “A picture is worth a thousand words” cannot be
overemphasized as time and again, research has proven
without a doubt that indeed our brain processes visuals way
faster than it would a text.
So, is Digital Marketing really worth the long epistle? Ehmmm
NO!
Come on, why spend valuable man hours writing long texts when you could rather spend a second sending out the same message-or more- at a glance in a very conveying picture and still get the job done? We all know a good meme says much more than words alone could. Effective visuals are extremely powerful when used correctly
to communicate an appropriate message. Although visuals are a great communication medium because they lend themselves to creative freedom, remember to always stay on board with your company message and create and spread content that reflects your brand but remember, an offbeat video or inappropriate photo posted with a company status update can do more harm than no visual content at all.
So, in summary, here are some take home points:
• A picture is worth a thousand words; take full advantage of every chance to communicate your message, use emoticons/ smileys if need be.
• Show, don’t tell; use effective visuals to power up your communications, boost engagement because effective visuals pack a serious punch when it comes to upping your engagement.
• Communicating does no good if it’s not retained by your audience; make that image unique and curiosity-driven to attract clicks… glue it to their thoughts!
• Get creative in how you use graphics; have a separate folder on your laptop for storing eye-catchy images you think may come in handy- because they always do, trust me!
• Finally guys, never forget to put the social back in social media. Remember to always have FUN!
